Hi stephx. Are you on and acid reducing drugs for the reflux?

Wind can be extremely painful and what a relief it is when you manage to get rid of it! Have you tried drinking some fizzy drink or gulping down some water as that should make you burp, or have you got any indigestion tablets which might help.  I shouldn't try forcing a burp or you might strain some muscles which might make you feel even worse.

Try to breath deeply, hypothetically in your stomach, not in your chest, it's said to reduce acidity, make it a habit.

Try to position your body in different positions, such as sitting leaning forward.

Try to massage your stomach area, for example take a deep breath, press with your fingers just under the ribs, and slide your fingers down as you exhale, focus more on the left side, do it a few times and see if you feel any relief, try it laying down.

You can try antiacids temporarily until you consult a doctor.

Hi Steph. Please phone your gp in the morning and get it checked out. There's no need to suffer and be scared. It's more than likely something very simple.

Don't put it off. Phone tomorrow.

    Good luck.

    Hi Stephx.

I had a similar problem with the gag and not being able to burp.  I went to my GP and he put me on Omeprazole and this sorted me out.  However, I still have the feeling of a lump in my throat when I swallow but this seems a little better now that I am on Lansoprazole and I am mainly on a liquid diet a the moment whilst I am awaiting to have tests done to see what is causing all of this. Get in with your GP asap and as soon as you start some medication you will feel alot better.  Hope that helps.
