I get canker sores ALL the time and they look like this. Doctors have clarified they are not a form of herpes, and are not contagious, Usually my period or stress causes them to pop up. I can not say definitively but quite confidently I do not think this is a presentation of oral herpes. Canker sores are almost worse though pain wise try swishing salt water in your mouth a couple times a day- it is uncomfortable but helps in the healing process:)
