Can problems with the vagus nerve cause CARDIAC ARREST!

I want to know because I have alot of gut and anxiety problems aswell as heart symptoms like plapitations (fast heart rate) heavy heart beats and chest discomfort due to problems with my vagus nerve, i would like to know whether this can trigger a cardiac arrest and if someone knows how this happens and how to prevent this I would really appreciate it.
A 17 year old girl was found dead in her room and she suffered from gut problems and anxiety.

The heart, like most organs has two sets of nerves, one increases activity and the other will reduce activity, and the Vagus is usually one of this pair. In some organs it increases in others it decreases activity. When the vagus activates its effect on the heart is to slow it down, it actually reduces the heart rate and makes abnormal beats less common. However stimulation by the vagus in the gut actually increases acid production and increases the muscular activity. Gut symptoms are very common in anxiety and can be very varied The increased heart rate when we are anxious is caused by a different group of nerves, so while it can certainly make you a lot more aware of your gut feelings it doesn't trigger cardiac arrest. When this happens in young people, it is extremely rare and often associated with exercise, its more an issue about the way impulses spread through the heart. The same nerves also effect your breathing which might make people more aware of their chest, but if its discomfort its more likely to be due to muscular tension.
Whenever your concerned about new symptoms and sensations its worth talking to your Dr, heart problems in young people are often easy for a Dr to identify and if he discounts it then you can focus on managing the anxiety. He might also be able to offer other forms of help and offer advice.

Hi Alice let's face the facts here you have health anxiety. You are fixated on common symptoms of anxiety and assuming you have a problem with your vegus nerve. You have absolutely no evidence to support this however you are obsessed by this thought that you are going to drop dead.Go to your doctor and ask for therapy as you are wasting time on needless procedures instead of working on the real problem which is anxiety.
