I just had a debridement/synovectomy 26 months post TKR , painful recovery for a month, as they scrape all the scar tissue out and clean it out, but they did it laporascopically, 3 small incisions....

I never actually had problem with range of motion, 120 plus, just kept filling with fluid, no infection and it would press on nerve.  The healing from this procedure hurt more than initial TKR but he said they did alot of digging around and scraping, and they also discovered at the time, that i have PVNS, still dont know whats in store for me there.  Right now I am more stiff than I was previously, but pain has gone down.  Probably doesnt help you much, but I do know although rare, some doctors will do the scope and debridement post TKR.  Good luck

Thanks, I see doctor for follow-up on the 28th and hoping he can give me information on PVNS.  I still cant believe he would give me diagnosis without any plan of treatment, but we will see. Good luck with you too.

I'm afraid I don;t have an answer to your specific question, but I'd be interested in what others advise.  I'm six months post-op and am stuck at 67 degrees - due to see the surgeon on Monday to talk about an op to remove the scar tissue.

well at 6mths post op with a 67 deg bend  i would go for MUA or the removal of scar tissue mind you he will probably do both ,i wouldnt hessitate if i were you .good luck .ive had many ops on this knee andthat is why im not sure if it would be possible  with you anything under 12mths is worth a shot at improving it     67deg is no bend and sitting  down is difficult when you dont have at least 90deg

That would be a call only your surgeon can or should make. I had a small amt filleted from the bone after 2 1/2. Yrs but it was done when they were putting the 3rd prosthesis after cleaning up a staph infection
