Can Sertraline make you miss periods?

Posted , 6 users are following.

I have been on Sertraline for a couple of months. I was started on 50mg then they increased them to 100mg as my anxiety was getting really bad. The 100mg was way too strong for me so i came off them cold turkey (i know, a really bad thing to do) but i had missed my period. Did 4 pregnancy tests all came back negative, had a blood test to test my hcg levels, came back normal. So im just wondering if this particular anti depressant can cause missed periods? I spotted for a couple of days the other day so thats worried me? Also wondered if it could have been my anxiety thats interfering with my periods? Thanks in advance.

    Hi , it's 100% your anxiety Hun.

I had the same when I was at my worst! My periods would come and go , on for 2 days off for 3 days on again for a week then off then on, it's totally your anxiety and the meds , because you are so stressed and anxious, the smallest amount of stress can affect our monthly cycle, let alone sever anxiety and AD.

Is there anything else your worrying about, ask away xxx

I know it’s bad an I don’t know what to do but I’m Trying to conceive aswell an have been for 2.9 years now! Don’t need anything to mess with me! Honestly thought I was pregnant! But obviously not. Too many negative tests. But I suffer from bad anxiety!
