Can shingles feel like you through your back out and cause neuropathy in hands and feet?

Hello- I am 45 years old and had the shingles over a year ago. At first I had no idea as the pain experienced was the right side of my back and was deep like I hurt my back. I had put a Tiger balm patch on it and later noticed the rash when I took the patch off. I assumed it was a reaction to the patch. The actual rash never hurt at all. For a week I was going to the chiropractor trying to fix my back. I noticed my lymph nodes were very swollen in the right groin area with these red dots in a straight line. I finally went to the ER and got the shingles diagnosis. Is it normal to have no pain from the rash? Also, now I have neuropathy in my right foot and just started in my right hand. I continue to get back pains off and on in the same area of the shingles. My doctor says my neuropathy could not be from the shingles and is idiopathic. Has anyone experienced neuropathy symptoms like this? If close to the spine could it cause these problems? Thank you for any feedback.
