Can someone explain the difference between type 1 and 2 please I really don't understand what it means for

I have type one genital herpes.

I understand it usually causes coldsores but me nor my partner have cold sores and we don't have oral sex so does this mean he could have caught it when he cheated?

What is the difference between the two of them? Is it less likely to be transmitted? If I am with someone who has coldsores and we had sex would I be able to give them hsv 1 in the genital area? And vice versa could they give it to me on the face? Could I give it back to myself on the face? Obviously I'm extremely strict with washing etc but is that possible?

I honestly have no idea where to even start or begin but all I can see is that it's not as bad as type 2 down there.

Anyone? I have tried to do some research it says things like shaving and bike riding and rigorous weight training can cause outbreaks? Is this true?

Type I and II are just two different variants of HSV. Typically, you will find I in the oral region and II in the genital region. However, they, you can also find I genitally and II orally.

If there is a bright side to all of this, Type I of the genital variety is relatively trouble free once you get over the stigma. Type I outbreaks are far less severe/frequent than Genital Type II. Many of those with Type I report outbreaks averaging once a year. Even more report no outbreaks after initial outbreak.

I have Type I GHSV. In the two plus years I have had it, I have only had one "possible" outbreak. I say possible because I played it safe and assumed that the couple of I spots were outbreaks. Could have very easily have been razor burn since I had just shaved prior to their appearance.

Yes, it can be passed to a partner's mouth or genitals if you are in prodrome or have an outbreak. Play it safe, take Valtrex daily and you'll be just fine.
