Can someone explain what an EP study is for me, please and thank you.

Been to the electrophisiologist (sp) and he mentioned the EP study as well, is it done during an ablation or before? I'm a bit confused.

An EP Study is how they figure out where to ablate. They pace different parts of the heart to see where the arrhythmia is coming from and if they're able to ablate that area they normally will at the same time of the EP Study. If you have any more questions, ask away!

The study is done to determine what type of SVT you have, and whether he can ablate. After that if he can ablate, he will do the burning. If he feels that it was successful, he will try to trigger you to see if it was successful

thank you for your replies. So basically the EP study is done when you agree to the ablation and you are on the table. I was thinking it was a test before hand. ok. that helps.
