Can someone tell me what this mole on my face is doing?!

this mole has been present for the past several years, developed in my mid 20s now 28. in the past several months it has raised up and gained texture. i began using tretinoin for my acne about 1.5 months ago. now this mole sometimes scabs over and flakes away? i have an appointment with a plastic surgeon for a removal consultation 8/23, as the derm said it was too big to do it in office there (it was flat at my last derm appointment and they didnt seem phased by it??)

    It looks more like a seborrheic wart/keratosis. Its not sure what causes them but sometimes sun exposure can be a factor, so if you are a sun worshipper then make sure you wear plenty of high SPF.

    Well done for being proactive about getting it removed. The retinoin may have irritated it. Dont worry, they are usually quite benign.

      thank you! and im an avid spf 50 on the face daily. even since making the initial post it's gone down in size a bit. thank you again for the reply, reassured me not to freak out too much as of now
