Can someone with one kidney get Cushing’s?

I have basically all of the symptoms of Cushing’s syndrome, but as I have only one kidney, I was wondering if that was even possible.

    Hi

Are you on steroids?? Long term steroid medication is the most common cause the other being a tumour on the kidney.

Go see your Dr if you are worried, might not be Cushings at all.

    Good luck x

Miki, there is absolutely no reason why someone with a sole kidney should suffer with Cushings any more than someone with two kidneys.  You say you have the symptoms of Cushings -  have you actually been diagnosed with it?  Cushings generally arises from having too much cortisol in the body and, as Jane says, one of the causes of this can be taking long term steroids.  If you have not been diagnosed with Cushings but you feel ill, then do talk to your Dr.  I hope at least this helps to reassure you on the sole kidney front.
