Can’t bend knee or lift it

I had Arthroscopic knee surgery 6 weeks ago to remove a piece of my knee cap that broke off. The orthopedic told me that during surgery he had to forced my knee to bend because it was so stiff. He told me that i shouldn't have trouble bending it because he cleaned it and bend it. I'm having trouble bending it and I can't lift it at all. It's still swollen but they told me is normal but i don't see it. Today i went to therapy and I could only bend it 35 with his help. He bended my knee and let my leg hang on the bed so gravity could pull it down but it was just hanging and was just bending a little. He then did some exercise by pushing my leg down while it was hanging. It was so painful. He told me I shouldn't have trouble because it was just a simple surgery. He then told me that maybe I need another surgery and told me to go see the orthopedic doctor before coming to therapy again. I'm worried. What else can I do?

This is some of what we do after a TKR...

    ROM Work

#3 is the "gravity" one...works GREAT if you get everyone out of the house and scream into a pillow. You can also get a "slide machine" to help...

i had something similar happen. Last year i had a left TKR and within a month my knee cap ligament holding it snapped and a piece broke off. I could not raise my leg and walking was difficult. The end result was more surgery. I didnt trust the orthopedic surgeon and asked for a referral to another surgeon who specialized in my problem. My new surgeon replaced the knee and repaired the ligaments and muscles. Because a all the repair and internal stitches for the first 3 weeks only a 45 degree bend then just 90 till 7 weeks.

    Hello Eduardo

I have a problem known as constricted knees. the problem developed because I spent 6 1/2 months in hospital last year. I've been given daily exercises to do plus two sessions in a therapy pool each week. If you have access to pool therapy it may help.
