Can't have enough sleep for the last 6 months due to an urge of having a bowel movement

Here am I, still suffering with the symptoms I posted 8 days ago but I forgot to mention these symptoms which I'm having for the last 6 months.

EVERY night or day, I wake up wayyy before I need to, I don't even remember the time I slept properly last time, for the last 6 months, I've been drowsy and eyes pain Bcuz I can't sleep and I wake up just because I have to poo but I can't even poo since I'm constipated, can't even let the gas out sometimes.. I have to clear my throat too frequently and sometimes when I sleep soon after the dinner, I feel heart burn when I wake up. It's getting pretty annoying. I have a hard time falling asleep but now after only 3 or 4 hours max I am awakened by gas in my abdomen and an urge of having bowel movement.

Nothing helps, Nothing works. No doctors can help me diagnose what is it. I have talked to my doctor and he says its another symptom of anxiety and allergy but I think it has to do with my stomach completely. That's great, but how do I fix it so I can actually sleep. Can u guys help me find what is it? I'm pretty much already in despair.

Also, I always feel like I'm full. Like even when I'm done with bowel movement, it still feels like that the poop is inside me and I can't and don't feel empty at all. I'm always suffering with incomplete bowel movement.

Has your doctor considered IBS?  Bowel habit change, incomplete evacuation, gas heartburn and anxiety (GERD) are all IBS symptoms.  Do you get any stomach pain that moves about? Your symptoms are beginning to become a bit clearer now that you say you are getting a lot of constipation. Go back to your doctor and tell him about all of these symptoms.  Ask tonbe referred to a gastroenterologist.

Yes exactly Pippa. Are you a doctor? If not, then still you're understanding my problem then why can't they? My doctors are gastroenterologists. I have been to two special gastroenterologist and about to go to the 3rd one as the medicines the first two docs gave me, affected me in a bad way, hence increasing my symptoms. But I'm gonna go back to him and have a follow up when he's available soon. Thanks so much

I'm not a doctor but I have gained a lot of knowledge from this site.  Gut disorders are extremely difficult to diagnose especially if they are functional and therefore don't show on scans.  The reason for my GERD didn't show up on endoscopy and it could only be assumed that my oesphageal sphincter was mistakenly opening and letting acid out. IBS doesn't show on scans  and can only be diagnosed when everthing else has been ruled out.  Ask your specialist about IBS.  That could be your problem.

I don't want to sound weird. Have you ever tried a colonic. It may relieve your constipation. But until you have the bowel movement you don't want to use a sleep aid or something for sleep. You may have a bad ulcer. Or not enough liquids to help you with making you stool softer. I wish I could be more help. Good Luck to you.

Is the endoscopy necessary to look for the bad ulcer if I have one? By the way none of my doctors have asked or recommended me endoscopy yet Bcuz they don't think that I have something severe cuz I have been suffering from it for 5 years maybe and it hasn't killed me that's why Bcuz maybe.

Yes you do. Need endoscopy. Colonoscopy too. They will be able to find out your problems. Please be vigilant. This is your livelihood. Please you must have these tests done. Once again much luck to you friend. Peace😎

I'm too young for endoscopy and colonoscopy, I wish I wasn't going through this but before I get these tests done, I'm gonna have to be sure that these tests are gonna find something suspicious out. I wanna be sure if these symptoms aren't caused by lactose intolerance, or simply, allergies cuz I have been diagnosed with allergy too my friend. Thank you for your concern though

You have no guarantee of knowing beforehand whether an endoscopy or colonoscopy will show anything up.  You will only know if anything has been found after your tests when you get your results. I was told in my 20s that I was too young to have an endoscopy but I still had it done.

Unlucky us Pippa, we had to suffer from this and we still are ever since we were young, but that was the first and only time you had gotten the endoscopy done?

No problem. Glad to have people like you on these discussions. We are here to help Each Other. Have a fun trip. Bfn.

I only had it done once because my heartburn was so bad I though I had an ulcer.  However, over the years it got less intense and manageable with taking antacids and milk. If I ever needed the procedure done again, I would have to find a less invasive method such as a capsule endoscopy or barium meal because I had a bad reaction to the sedation.

    Hi Mrchase24

What is your typical days diet??

    • Posted

My diet is wheat bread along with vegetables as well as beef and mutton most of the times. But it has nothing to do with my disease. I used to play football all day long last year, still I had to face acid reflux, I'm a sportsman and yet I'm suffering from a gut disorder. My bowels barely even are of regular shape, usually and mostly, they are weird shaped and small and sometimes they are inflamed too. I don't know what's really wrong with me my symptoms are just way too much. I appreciate it so much that you guys are helping me through it

      Hi Mrchase24

Have you trued leaving out the wheatbread?...try go gluten free you maybe wheat intolerant....also change the beef to chicken or fish.....just give it a try for a few weeks and see if there is any improvement...also you mention your a sportman how much do you do? is it intense sport and exercise?...if so you may have adrenal fatigue which affects your cortisol which in turn affects your gut and your circadian rhythm therefore it affects your sleep cycle......hope this helps...best wishes..
