Can't hold my urine

Have any of you ladies experienced not being able to hold your urine while going through Menopause?
I have to rush as soon as I feel a little tingle. If I wait a second later it's all over. I'm peeing on myself while running to the bathroom.
Also my sex life with my partner has gone straight to zero. After the act my Vigina burns. I think my walls have opened some. I tried the excercise with tightening the virgina while peeing but it still escapes. Any suggestions?

this is one if the more common peri & meno symptoms. All they lovely Estrogen we used to make that is now reducing, the stuff we have taken for granted all those years, that gave us monthly regular periods we moaned about (well sometimes moaned about) well the little we make at this time is now being diverted to try and keep our ovaries going as long as possible. The result a weak pelvic floor, cough, sneeze or star jump at your peril Ten na lady being our new best friends.
sorry to state it so light heartedly but its the only way to get through sometimes. Kegel exercises & pelvic floor exercise gadgets are recommended and spare pair knickers to be carried at all times

Yepp...same with me! I'm having cough and cold right now, and every hard cough, I pee a little and as a result gotta change (GRRR). And yes even during normal times, its becoming difficult to hold the pee. If I have to to, I HAVE TO GO. Its so irritating having to plan while going out (how long will it take, will I last, how much water did I drink...) I think this was one of my first symptoms - of course I did not realise what was happening to me.
Hopefully it gets better with time, or else from buying tampons, we have to invest in lifelong pantyliners

Marjorie - I would tinkle when I would sneeze or cough or jump since the age of 41 or so.
Well..this past week, for the first time at age 49, I thought I was getting my period; went to the bathroom and I was leaking urine. FIRST. TIME. EVER.
Here's my concern. Like you, I am experiencing this new urine thing and vaginal dryness.
Did you know that only 50% of women will ever have vaginal dryness? I did NOT. I thought every woman experienced this!!! No - you can live until 70, 80 and on and never experience this.
I am reading a ton and finding out that that a lot of research states that if you do not introduce some type of hormones you will be looking forward to Prolapse of some form in one or more organs. There are women who are experiencing UTI's non-stop down the road.
This is the stuff that we are NOT informed about! I'm reading these women saying that had they known to be proactive and what the consequences would be; etc, etc - consequences meaning: prolapse, constant UTI's and on and on.
So hard to know what to do on the hormones. I feel like I'm really at the fork in the road and am going to have to make some decisions. I started the over the counter natural progesterone cream (wild yams). Once I hit the 3 month mark I will see how the dryness is improving. I may have to introduce Estriol if it doesn't get better. No amount of lubrication will change the situation (yes it helps with sex life)...as the lubrication does not "restore'. I just joined the Atrophic Vaginitis group to start educating myself on the options (yes you can try Vitamin E and Coconut Oil yada, yada - but again - non restorative from others' experiences)
