hello everyone. I was with a women that has hsv1 and after her cheating on me we broke up. I was risking h but she wasn't faithful. I've had some wierd things happen and I put it off on h2. 8 months later I'm negative on the igG. I've even had the western blot at 8 months and it too was negative. I can't seem to let it go because it'll remain negative until the person seroconvert to Positive. if anyone can let me kno how long it took to show positive on blood test it'll really help me my anxiety out. I keep reading so many different things and nobody ever updates. I plan to keep u all informed and updated in hopes to help someone out if they find themselves in my situation. thank you

I think that if you are still testing negative after 8 months then you are clear as your body has had more than enough time to produce antibodies against the virus which is what the test detects.

Thank you for your reply. if you don't mind me asking how where u diagnosed. was it a swab and later confirmed blood test. did u have blood at the same time as the swab come up negative and later on was positive? how long did it take you? Thank you so much.

if no symptoms and still negative blood test then its time to let it go...

No not at all. I had an active outbreak and was diagnosed with a swab test only.

The swab was taken at a clinic and I had results with the type within a week

thanks for your reply. did you ever bother with a blood test later on to confirm. I know swabs are most accurate. sometimes not typed and just assumed genetal from the location.

No I've not had a blood test for it, the swab confirmed HSV2 at the time and I've had further outbreaks since and recognise the early signs and symptoms now
