    Hi Jane,

The most important thing is to try to find out what is making your body react. The way I describe LS is it is like having an allergy and the result is LS. Your body will keep reacting until you find what your body is rejecting. It is a long process and everyone is different, so what may work for me, may not work for you. So

I would start a daily journal. Write down everything that touches, goes on or into your body. Then eliminate items 1 by one and see how your body reacts. Most people don't get better until they understand what is causing the inflammation in their body. Once you know what your body doesn't want LS is easy to manage.

    Here are things to try:

Stop using soap on your on your genitals only use water to wash. Also change out all your soaps for perfume and dye free. Change all of your household cleaners to vinegar or baking soda.

    Try baking soda sitz baths.

You may be allergic to toilet paper, toilet paper is bleached and it may be causing further irritation. You can purchase a bidet or use a cup of water to clean yourself after you use the toilet.

Monitor your stress. Stress reeks havoc on the immune system and causes inflammation.

Hope some of these ideas help you on your journey to find what your body is reacting to.

    Good luck!

    Jen

    Hi Jane,

I started down this road 10 months ago, and I'd say it took a good 4 months before there was a level of comfort returning. From starting with jut one or two older comments on her about Vitamin D and MSM, I spent months researching the web. I found the validating research that proves that LS is an autoimmune disorder and from that I put together all the cofactors of Vit D and their cofactors together that apply to autoimmunity. We really have to address our nutritional status from the inside as well as assuaging itching with a cream.

If you are interested I have two articles in my files (click on my name and scroll down to the right) that show all the supplements that have brought me comfort and slowly healing. I do have a new one to try also; I'll post that to a separate message.

I DO agree that diet has alot to do with it ( I DON't care what others inept doctors say). When I eat sugar, I get a little tingly itch, like a warning. SO far GLUTEN and DAIRY have not given me problems. I love emuaid and v- magic to keep moisturized, coconut oil is also great. As per NANCY B. I now take 14 supplements in the AM AND 2 in the PM- the specialist said my diet and supplements are right on point. I USE 100% organic cotton pantyliners and tampons, pure cotton toilet tissue and I HV NO issues right now. I use CLOB 2x a day until I see specialist again in DECEMBER, because I still have my period and plenty of ESTROGEN, she is not worried about my skin thinning or tearing no issues with that either.

hang in there! It does get better!
