Can't shake the depression, don't know where to turn

Graves is kicking my ass. I don't understand my disease and I don't know what questions to ask. My doctor doesn't seem to want to help. My husband looks at me with disgust and doesn't take the time to help me understand what's going on with me

Most docs really don't offer much information or support. Honestly, I don't think they know what causes it so they just want to remove the thyroid or throw meds at it. I am getting good results by following an anti viral diet. Plus, I feel I am doing something to help me get well rather than just believing I am doomed to let my body attack itself. Rubbish, I say. I'm glad you found this page... Lots of info and support here!

I haven't had bloodwork in 6 months. I'm waiting over a month to see my family Dr. And I can't even get into a thyroid specialist for 1.5 years. And because of the long wait, my Dr didn't even send in a requisition

Ok ,you can try private blood test  ( Medichecks .com )  good luck

......Then just you kick it right back Tasha ..

First you need to have your blood results ..

And when you tell them you WANT a printed copy of them at your doctors .. tell them they are YOURS ... and you are entitled to them

Next come back here and print them for us to see ..  including the numbers in brackets as those are your lab ranges and will show where you are in their scales

We here understand how to read those results .. and you will too cause we’ll show you ..

Next hopefully we can advise what to tell and ask your doctor

He will either send to to an Endocrinologist who specialises in the Endocrine System within the body ..  (  google that )

Linda is contacting you privately and she will give you wonderful advice as she has been through it all .. and is very helpful indeed.

Please don’t worry Tasha .. you must be feeling pretty bad .. and if it helps we here have all been there too ... but many of us have become well again ... and YOU will too Luvvie .. with some help and direction .. and a good doctor hopefully .

Don’t forget to let us know your results ... so we can start in getting you well

    luv mx🌹

You said in your email to me that you have Graves but you have symptoms of underactive.  What medication are you on and what dosage?  Can you post your lab tests along with the ranges that are in brackets beside them?  Where do you live?

    Tasha,

I also have Grave's. It is very serious and you should be under close doctor's care. If one doctor won't take you seriously, then please fight to see another doctor. You can die from thyroid storm! Don't take this lightly. There is no natural cure for Grave's (you can check medical journals). You need to be treated by a professional. Is there a way you can get referred to an endocrinologist soon based on your symptoms? I would make alot of noise until someone listens! I know you don't have the mental or physical energy to do that, but it is so important! I was lucky to have a wonderful endocrinologist and know it can make such a difference. Sending you lots of positive thoughts! Take care~
