Can't sleep, don't know how to get stomach to start hurting.

So I came home from work feeling stress which resulted in me getting a stress stomach ache with such terrible pain. I tried to distract myself by coloring and making tea. I was practically falling asleep. As soon as I lay down I get the stomach pains really hard again. I threw up a few times and it hasn't helped very much. So I tried to relax but now I've been laying in bed for hours with this terrible stomach ache. This happens all the time. i try to not stress out. But then having a stomach ache becomes all I can think about. And my heart will just race even though I feel so exhausted and drained yet my body won't relax and let me fall asleep. I already took melatonin and it didn't work. I've never gone to see a doctor because I'm worried they'll just give me pills and send me on my way. I wish I knew how to get rid of my stomach pains

It's probably acid build up from stress. If your worried your doctor won't take you seriously ask them if you can be checked for things. They can't say no and they'll most likely look into it. But they'll probably look into it any way 😊 I hope it gets better for you.

Hello I would advise you talk with your GP, if you take some medications they can mask any problems your tummy may have.

The problem at this time is its Christmas and it will be Wednesday before next Clinic.

Make your appointment for next week. Because of this you can take medications like Milk of Magnesia or you could go to a chemist and they will advise on different of script medications.

Hi Hannnah, I do agree with the others you really should go see your gp.

But with the xmas hols it will be a few days before they can fit you in.

I am just wondering if you have IBS, I get horrendous stomach pain especially at night when I get an attack, it can go on for days, or weeks, sometimes on its own or others with other symptoms associated with ibs.

It is associated with stress. The more you worry the worse it will get, a hot water bottle may help with the pain, and I use Buscapan, and wind eze caplets which calm things hugely. You could try the wind eze, or even a antacid of some sort, the Buscapan works by steadying the the gut action, as in ibs it knots up and moves out of sync.

It may be worth talking to a pharmacist tomorrow, they will advise, although they are always cautious about prescribing if you havent been to the doc.

Its up to you really, probably wont do any harm to try something over the counter.

I have suffered with ibs for years on and off, and in the beginning it was just the stomach ache, especially at night, and with your other symptoms it would be very likely that this is what you have also.

Hope this helps, try to relax, drink some camomile tea, or lemon ans ginger, , try to address the anxiety, if you do have ibs, it wont settle completely until you calm the anxiety no matter what you do.

Yeah this makes sense. I talked to my mother and discovered she has IBS. So it'd make it likely for me to have it as well. I do try and drink teas and try to not stress about it but as soon as I put my book down for example to go to bed my pulse is back up my stomachs hurting. Being a young woman I still have not figured out what I need to do for myself to calm down.
