Gillian, I am sorry indeed about this as the symptoms seem rather intense. I have suffered like that too in the past but things have gotten better.

Your diet and lifestyle issues may be critical. Smoking aggravates reflux but most sufferers who smoke tend to overlook that.

Try a bland diet with all the possible triggers cut out for a while and see the result.

Have you also tried a bit of genuine apple cider vinegar in your drinking water last thing at night?

Yes. Anxiety and stress affect the reflux. Have you taken medication to treat it?

I'm sorry to hear that. This stress and anxiety intensify your reflux.

Yes it does makes it very bad some days burning never goes away

Hi Gillian. If you have acid reflux that does not respond to PPI therapy, that's when doctors will usually consider anti-reflux surgery. There are several different procedures available. Have you mentioned this to your doctor?

    Hi Gillian,

im not sure if you still will get this but i was searching online and read your post. I too suffered awfully belching badly, burping up food, chest pains/pressure. I was given omoprazole I think how you spell it however i still continued to suffer. I decided to go private and I was immediately told before my camera/biopsy/bloods I didn't have acid reflux! I am a healthy weight eat healthy. After my outpatients appointment and biopsy I was told I had too muck ALKALINE!! not acid reflux!! He Advised me to buy BIO KULT PROBIOTICS AND DRINK HIGH PH WATER I BOUGHT IT FROM TESCO AND NOW I JUST DRINK HIGHLAND AS ITS CHEAPER AND STILL PH 7.5

I really hope this works for you too also check your B12 as im a suffer for that too and that also makes the belching happen!

The Omoprazole is just making your acid levels worse and causing this to continue!!!

    kindest regards

    Shannon
