Can this problem relate to pancreas?

I need your help.

It's been two years now that I am dealing with stomach issues. The pain first started on the upper right side of my abdomen. Then suddenly moved to the upper left side under the rib cage. It was a sever pain that was going to my back, shoulders and my chest. But I never throw up or anything I just had pain. I went to different GI specialists and they run some tests on me such as MRCP, ulthrosound and many blood works Tnx God all came back normal but pain never went away. I kept a asking the doctors if this is pancreas problem but all said no it can not be. But l Google all my symptomps some were relating and some don't. Like I don't get pain after meal I just have pain when I have the bowl movment and if I sleep on the right side the left side gets painful.

I am severely constipated as well. But I don't know if pancreas problem can cause colon pain or constupation?

I should say that I had galblader surgery around 5 years ago and since then I was never normal.

So does anyone of you have colon pain and constupation as well?

Do you feel burning inside of your colon?

Thank you

      Thx for the respond.

I had MRI and it was a special one o lot for the stomach area that was called MRCP and it was normal. This MRI will show everything in the stomach as the dr told me it's comparable with ERCP but not invasive as ERCP.

However, do you have the constupation and colon pain as well?

      What are your symptomps?

Cathy pancreatitis is a hard to diagnose illness , my symptoms are pain in middle to right side and constant bloating, Creon helps with pain killers, I go to toilet either with constapation after 2 days or have runs when I'm never off toilet. Sometimes Chrons can mimic pancreatitis, The Pancreatic Tree on Facebook is a really good site and for sure somebody will have your symptoms

Good luck Cathy hope I've answered a couple of your points

I've had same for 7 years. All my tests also negative. My pain is all left sided, can go through to my back and left side. Also very constipated most of the time. Seen about 20 different GPs and 3 gastro specialists. All tell me it's 100% not my pancreas. Although I still don't believe them! My pain is worse after alcohol but I don't notice anything after fatty food. I've been told it's ibs, splenic flexure syndrome, reflux and possible gastritis. I'm still not convinced as when I read up it all points to pancreas!

Natalie it could be IBS or Chrons, symptoms similar to pancreatitis, daughter in law has Chrons and had loads of problems and ops,my pain has always been right side and bloating only found Chronic Pancreatitis after MRI with contrast ultrasound never detected anything

Pancreatic Tree on Facebook is a really informative site

      Good luck speedy recovery

Thank you I have been tested for chrons. Had tons of bloods, ultrasounds, ct scan, detailed MRI of pancreas, endoscope, colonoscopy, stool tests! Not one thing found! Which I am obviously pleased about but it's also frustrating when I'm in pain so often! Used to drink bottle of wine a night in my 20's which is why I worry about pancreas! I'm now 33 with 3 children and in a very rocky relationship which I know doesn't help my symptoms! Hopefully if it was my pancreas something would of shown by now being 7 years into it!

      Thanks for your response

Uh this is so frustrating. I never drank alcohol the only thing that happens to me and caused this pain was the gallbladder surgery. Since then I never felt the same. None of the doctors belive that it might be pancreas. I too do not have pain after fatty food and I don't drink alcohol to see if I'll get pain or not.

I get pain if I prussure my left and right sides with my fingers, I get pain during bowl movment, and I get pain if I sleep on my right side. When the pain began two years ago it was going to my back, my chest and my shoulders but now it's more on the left side.

I also feel burning in the left side of my colon from the upper left side under the rib cage down to bottom. Also when I have BM sometimes I get sever pain all over my stomach but mostly on the upper side which makes me cry out.

That is why for a while I was thinking what if it's my colon and not pancreas.

So what do you think Natalia.

It could be a bowel issue unless you have a history of pancreas issues in your family it's unlikely to be your pancreas if you have never drank alcohol. Unless your gall bladder aggravated it before you had it out but I would of thought it would of caused an acute attack first which you would of known about and ended up in hospital I expect! I'm not an expert but read lots about it in the last 7 years!

It sounds like a bowel issue, try a colon cleanse and let us know.

ER told...about the stent! Now the pain and especially chronic nausea (the absolute worse) has almost put me down.  I did find that eating a fat free diet helped, but I still get attacks of the horrible nausea. I am certain my pancreas was damaged and is now causing all these pI have been having severe pain and dibiliting nausea, with rotating constipation and diarrhea, going on 8 months now.  I have had an EGD and Colonoscopy..  EGD showed Nodular Colititus and over active acid.  Colonoscopy showed pre-cancerous polyps and the doc said my colon was black...no explanation for that. And I have had all the other routine GI tests.  Anyway, during all of this, I found out that several years ago, AFTER I had my gallbladder out, I started having the same symptoms as before. Went to GI and he found there had been a stone lodged in my pancreatic duct.  I had to have emergency surgery to have it removed and a stent was put in my pancreatic duct...this is the info I was NEVroblems.  Had anyone else had probems with a stent left in that was supposed to be removed??  Desperate for relief...thank you in advance!
