Sadly, yes it can.I started with Oral, then Vulval, Anal and yesterday, was diagnosed with Opthalmalogical Lichen Planus as well.
I usually get episodes two or three times a year, of varying duration but this current one has lasted 3 months so far and I am exhausted with it. I have to advise though that I do not take any medications for this horrible disease but try to manage each area individually., though the eye problem will require specialist treatment.
Sorry not to be more optimistic but it may take many years to progress to other areas of the body ......I have had this disease for many years but was ignorant of its overall effects........I did think I just had many seperate health issues until it was diagnosed .
Kind regards

Hi Sharon
I too was diagnosed many years ago with OLP but only the last few years it's really bothering me, because it's autoimmune that's why it affects different parts of the body, around the same time I was diagnosed I had colposcopy for abnormal cells after a cervical smear, I guessed they were linked, and niwvmt eye has been watering for a few years, it's so annoying!

Hi Joyce
Sorry to hear your suffering with this, i know how you feel, and the doctors won't admit there's a link, I think they don't want us to worry and cause more stress. A few of my friends me included are all having these problems. Hpv the virus that caused the abnormal cervical cells stays in our bodies so it's causing all these other abnormalities. It's autoimmune, my eyes have been bothering me for a few years now just running all the time and my nose feels blocked, it affects the mucus membranes. How old are you Joyce and where are you from? What treatment are they doing for your osephogus? x

Yes, it's a very sneaky disease and gets everywhere.
If your eye is bothering you for that long, maybe mention to your optician that you have L.P, just in case it's gone to your eyes too.?
Kind regards
