Can you contract herpes from underwear?

this may be really weird but...can you contract herpes without having sexual contact with someone?

it's a long story but say you come in contact with someone's underwear who is infected but you don't actually have sex... can you get infected?

Asking because i am unexperienced and i'd rather be safe than sorry.

I read a little it and symptoms may appear between 2 or 12 days. I still haven't seen anything but yet again some studies say that symptoms may appear years later or may not appear at all.

You have nothing to worry about. Herpes is contracted from skin to skin contact only! It has a very short life on inanimate objects. Unless you wiped the underwear on a active blister and then touched yourself with it immediately, then you possibly have a small (extremely small) chance of passing it to yourself. But highly unlikely.

what if I had contact with a person who tested positive twice , but I tested negative 12 days later & then 4 weeks later too. Do I have to disclose to my next partner that I came in contact with a person who is positive even though I came out negative.... this herpes thing is so tricky... I can be negative today and be positive tomorrow with no symptoms... or does you blood always carry the anti bodies regardless of symptoms.... I do not mind getting tested every 6 months but if I keep coming out negative even though I had contact do I have to disclose?

No you don’t have to disclose anything because you do don’t have it! Unless you are given a positive result on a test or are symptomatic there is nothing to for you to disclose 😃

stop encouraging people to infect others please.

did she clearly say the exact type of test she had to be so sure about the result?

herpes is very onfectious.abstains from sex for now or tell people about your exposure.your result is still not definitive due the time of exposure.

Hi, sorry do not mean to infect anyone but i did the igg blood test, 12 days then 4 weeks after last contact with the person and came out negative with no symptoms. From my understanding is ppl come out positive years after contracting it but if i keep getting negative now then i clearly don't have it unless i test positive but there is no way to tell the future... do i still have to disclose if i keep getting negative JUST cus i had contact with someone whos positive?
