can you get clean from 500ml of methodone

I am now confused and scared about going into withdraw. I have not use herion for 6 days now. I been using methodone as and when needed and decreaseing the amount from 60ml the first day down to about 10ml for today. Thinking the worst of the withdraw was over some one has told me its NOT. This was very upsetting to me to hear this. By taking the methodone They reckon I have just possponed the withdraw and not got through it. I have now run out of methadone so dont know whats going to happen. I was thinking by doing the methadone while the herion was leaving my system it would stop the illness and then after a week i would stop the methadone and I should have got over the worst of it but now I just dont know. I have a full time job and a boss who hates people taking sick days but I cant work while having a 8 year herion withdraw.

I thought the illness from withdraw came about from opiates in herion leaving your body. so by replaceing systhetic opiates into the body eg methadone it keeps your body stable while the herion opiate leave.

If any one knows for sure the answer to this please help. The last 6 days have been real hard menterly and could int wait for them to pass and now it might be all for nothink as I might have to withdraw mentery and phsicaly all over again from day 1.

    Sorry matey, but the worst of its yet to come. methadone has a half life of 36+ hours, so a day and a half after your last dose, you've still got half as much left in your system... so, add together all the meth you've taken in the last week, and you'll only start to rattle properly about 48 hours after you stop your meth. meth withdrawal is much much worse than gear withdrawal, it lasts longer. synthetic opiates/ natural opiates = same difference, just as addictive as eachother. if i were you, i'd reduce your meth down as much as possible then stop, if you can't hack it, go back on the gear, reduce that slowly, as your cluck will not be nearly as bad. not what you want to hear, i know, but sorry, the truth ain't too pretty. then again, i ain't clean yet myself either, so do whatever works for you. good luck.

    yes it all sucks ... here in Canada we have OxyContin available EVERYWHERE it is everywhere and is real cheap and POTENT !!! everyone says it is stronger than the heroin here, I have never done heroin but was doing HUGE amounts of Oxy daily, Try Methadone, that is what I am on right now, it is easy to get at free Cinics in Canada and it works real good, the government supplies it free, no hassle just walk right in, I really like it and it wipes out the bad withdrawal symptoms 100%

    yes...however this is not the case here in the UK. it is still easy enough to walk into a doctors or local drug service and walk out the same day with a methadone script, but they don't tend to prescribe anything else, except subutex, which, in my personal experience, is the most evil thing ever. I guess the fear of people abusing it is too high..?

    correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding of it is that in the states and canada pharmacuticals are so easily available, either through legitimate scripts or on the streets, that a hell of a lot of opiate addicts have never even touched heroin? is this right?

    you don't get that so much over here, we only tend to go for the pills and potions when we can't score...odd how thinks are different, isn't it? anyway, either way, we're all addicts, and however easy to get, oxy/ meth/ subutex/ whatever: it still doesn't get you clean, does it?

    Hello matey.hows things going.I'm on 80 ml meth daily and use gear on top.where are you now with your using.I'm trying to get into rehab myself been on opiates for 17 years.there's no help out there its hard mate.t

    People often take methodone indefinitely to stay off of heroin and sometimes other drugs. (at least here in Canada) I am pretty sure you cannot just stop so quickly!

    I really feel for you Keny. Ive been on 90mls for about a year and about a week ago  i thought id cut down 10mis a day got down to 30mls and during that night had to get up and have 70mls to stop the withdrawral so i guess what guest says is true cause i thought i was flying along with coming off but put a hold on it. So i had 30mls in mornimg 70mls about 2am then 50mls about 5pm so probaly back where i started. Going to go back to my treatment centre and do what they suggest and come down probably 10mls every other week. Taking it slower
