can you get hpv through kissing?

Hi I'm a 21 -year-old female, never had sex of any kind with anyone. All I've done is kiss a guy on the lips. Is that enough to get hpv?

    In a word, Yes.

    If you are in the slightest doubt that you might have contracted Human papilloma virus (HPV) then please go at the earliest opportunity to your nearest sexual health clinic (you will be able to find where it is on Google).

    I am not saying that you have this condition, but if you think there is the slightest chance that you do, then please follow my advice,

    Genital warts? May I ask why out of all things, you are worried about this? Not as likely, not as common, or herpes is a lot more common.

    I am a little confused to what you wanting to know here. If you have warts on your month then get it checked out . If you have herpes sores then that could be the common cold sore. The hpv (a virus) has two strains one is harmless . Ie like warts on your hands . However never touch some genital areas if you two. There is an

      Sorry that reply was sent too quick .as to continue. .. However never touch someone genital area if you have warts. If you have genital warts you will need treatment. If your worried that you can catch herpes from the month then yes you can also. Herpes also has two strains and is a virus .One is the common cold sore the other is can be more serious . Hope this helps

    thanks everyone. It's just that when I went to my gynecologist last month she refused to examine me on the grounds that, as a virgin, it was impossible for me to have hpv and thus no need for examination; just wanted to know whether this was true or not!

      It sounds like you have anxiety... If you haven't had sex, yiu can't get HPV. Is it plausible from kissing someone who has it, I'm sure it is, but there's not many strains of HPV that can transfer to the mouth, as the enzyme's in our saliva tends to kill the virus before it can infect cells.
