I think you can.
Having HSV1 provides no immunity to HSV2 or vice versa.

They are both the same no matter where its at. The only difference is the amount of outbreaks you may have. I have asked several doctors your question today and they all said no you can not. I have been a nurse for over 20 years and have seen lots of herpes cases but never type 1 and type 2 on the mouth at the same time
