Can you have both HSVs in one spot?

if you already have hsv 1 orally can u still get hsv 2 on the mouth too?

    I think you can.

    Having HSV1 provides no immunity to HSV2 or vice versa.

      right so you can still get hsv 2 orally even if you have hsv1 orally

    They are both the same no matter where its at. The only difference is the amount of outbreaks you may have. I have asked several doctors your question today and they all said no you can not. I have been a nurse for over 20 years and have seen lots of herpes cases but never type 1 and type 2 on the mouth at the same time
