Can you please tell me what this is on the shaft of my penis (pictures)

I am 35 year old who is embarrassed to show this to my doctor and I have had this since I was 16 when I had my first sexual experience. It was a small spot back then and I could pick it off, but now it has gotten much larger.

There is no pain or anything like that, but it's emotional disturbing to me. I think it is warts, but I showed it to a friend and he thought it looked like herpes, but it does not go away, so I don't think it's herpes.

I am curious how I can get rid of it and I know there is no cure if it is warts, but I would like to have the spot removed. I wonder if I could freeze it off or use some cream that would burn it off?

Any help as to what you think it might be and possible ways to remove it would be most appreciated.

Thank you so much!

    Go to your doctors.

I would have gone within a week.

You will get some good feeback here but then do go to your doctors.

Don't mess about - show your doctor. It might need a biopsy. Nothing to be afraid of if it has taken years to develop - can't be an aggressive cancer - but it does need proper medical attention.

Please go to your doctor. I understand your embarrassment, but do not put this off any longer. At 35 you have a lot life ahead of you. You need to keep all your body, including your penis, in the best health possible.

Thanks for posting here, and keep us informed as to what your doctor says. It helps other guys have the courage to take their penis health seriously.

I don't know what that is, but you do need to see a doctor.  You could either see your GP, or if you're in the UK, you could go to a genitourinary medicine (GUM) clinic - google "GUM clinic near me" for details.

If you could update this thread and tell us what the doctors say, it would be appreciated.  Good luck.

Warts are normally curable btw, whereas herpes isn't.  What you have doesn't really look like either though, which is actually more concerning.

If you're in the UK, many GUM clinics have appointments or even take walk-ins on Saturdays and sometimes Sundays.

Oh, and don't be nervous about showing it to a doctor.  Sure, it might not be an enjoyable experience, but it's your health we're talking about, and this looks like it could be something serious.  Doctors have seen everything, including stuff muuuch more embarrassing than what you have.

As I often point out here, women have to lie on their backs with their legs in the air on a regular basis, while a stranger looks inside them with a speculum and flashlight, so we men have it easy.  There are way too many men who won't see a doctor till they absolutely have to, and it's something we need to change.
