Hi all update on my cancelled hip op got a call yesterday saying the surgeon only operates at weekend..... found that strange as he operated on my right hip.on Monday and they can't staff theatre so I have been transferred to another consultant...waiting for an app to meet him. Not too pleased with this as I was happy with the consultant I had. As this happens to any one else and what was the waiting time

    Hi Jean,

    Sorry to hear that your surgery was cancelled.  It is very strange that the surgeon only operates on a weekend?  I didn't think any surgeon or doctor with their own practice worked on a weekend.

    Hopefully you'll get a call very soon to get another date.  Make sure that you stay on top of them until you do.

    Best wishes, and keep up postedsmile

    Hi Jean

    I live in Australia and think you must be UK.  No way would a surgeon book surgeries on weekend here.  Hope it sorts out for you sooner rather than later.  Our public system is almost a 12-18 month waiting list now unless emergency and you can be moved up the ladder.  Private insurers are operated on asap.

    I agree with fellow members regarding the only doing surgery on weekends .. well, maybe you will be better off with surgeon who operates mon through fri or whenever they are needed ... (Ex husband anesthesiologist)

    let us know when your appointment is and how it turnd out, okay ..

    things happen fo a reason, you know that, right ..

      dear jean,

      I am sure that you are relieved and, of course, a wee bit anxious for your upcoming surgery ...

      did your surgeon tell you why he will be using different protheses ?

      let us know, okay ...

      angel blessings
