I've been suffering for the last 2 months with incomplete bowel movements They are typically very thin. Sometimes longer but most of the time small. Occasionally I will have a thicker poo. Could you go back and forth if there was a tumor obstruction. Definitely feels like something is blocking my bowel.
Thanks. I'm 34 and female.,

However, explain your symptoms to your doctor. If he/she is good, you might get a diagnosis straight away based on your symptoms. Usually, they don't know and in that case they will run tests to exclude similar conditions. If all these tests are negative, IBS can be diagnosed.

As Ray said, if there was a blockage it would be constant, or get worse as tumors will only get bigger. Is there any blood present when you have a bowel movement? If so, mention this to your doctor as it is a red flag symptom and will need further investigation. To put your mind at rest you could ask for a colonoscopy. Its not a bad proceedure with pain relief and sedative, slept through most of mine. My colonoscopy revealed that I had a very long and mobile sigmoid colon, and there were question marks whether I had suffered volvulus (bowel blockage) in my past. I can't be sure but there were times that I thought I was suffering constipation, perhaps I wasn't and it was due to a volvulus. Other than that and a few polyps that were removed, there was nothing wrong with me down there. Since, then I have been diagnosed with IBS and I too sometimes feel that I've had an incomplete bowel movement. My stools also come out flat or irregular shaped regularly, I don't know why this happens with IBS, perhaps its the increased digestion action of the colon that squeezes the stools this shape, mine goes so mad that it feels like I have something living inside my colon.
My philosophy is, if in doubt, get it checked out. But it does sound like IBS to me. Hope that helps and all the best!
