Candesartan and strong joint pain

Posted , 3 users are following.

Dear fellow sufferers, I am on a strong dosis of Candesartan (32 mg) and too have experienced abrupt swelling of knees and worsening of my knee pain, now also hip joint pain, at just 55. Doctors dismiss any connection, and I am pleased to have comeacross this forum by chance.  I find weight loss of even 5-10& to help significantly, as does Cucumin, a strong dosage of the Indian spice cucuma. Glucosamid and Chondroitin have helped in the past as well.

A lot of BP meds can increase water retention, so adding a diuretic sometimes helps fix that, could be related to joint problems?

Sounds as though you have osteoarthirits of hip joints as well as knee joints, an x-ray will prove one way or the other if you have problem as suggested.

If your Dr will not do an x-ray find another Dr, that's the mistake I made trusted my Dr I had been with him for 15 years, he let me down badly, specialist was horrified when he saw me, and told me in no uncertain terms to fire him before he kills you.

Usual waiting time for first outpatient specialist clinic to surgery in public hospital in Australia for ortheopedic surgery is about 6 months, mine was 10 days, 2nd hip replacement was 6 months between clinic and surgery.
