cannot calm down

I am 67 days after a possible infection from herpes. No symptoms appeared until now a blood test i did at 54 days (chemiluminescence assay) after the infection was negative for both types. One doctor told me that i am hsv free 1000% but i can't calm down. And all this because on net i read that herpes might not have symptoms, blood test may be false negative and i have to wait for years until the first symptoms appear. Many people told me to go to a psychiatrist but i dont like shrinks and their medication.I think that psychologists are useless and i prefer to get cured by myself.Any suggestion would be helpful.

don't know if this is any use but my boyfriend gave me herpes yet he tested negative I think you have to be in the middle of a break out to see it in the blood results

doctor told me that body starts to produce antibodies immediately after the infection.First the Igm antibodies and then the IgG antibodies. And in this period of time antibodies must have been showed up or their titers must have been increased. And this happens with every infection symptomful or symptomless. In herpes first appear IgMs then they disappear and IgGs appear after for a lifetime. And in every outbreak IgMs reappear and then disappear again. Maybe your boyfriend had been tested only for IgMs.And the antibodies in herpes show up very quickly. My doctor told me all these. That's why he is 1000% sure that i am herpes free.

i think your okay!
your results up until now have been negative. id try not to worry! even if the results were positive there isnt anything you can do to change it, its not the end of the world and in the long run it really wont have a huge effect on your life!

Diseases have certain pathologies that are characteristic of the disease causing organism, in this case, herpes. You took a blood test and it came back negative, but after 50+ days, the blood test is only 30-70% accurate, you can look up the specific stats on the test you took. So youre right, it could be a false negative. HOWEVER, you must consider the only other way to test is by DNA or by swab (PCR or culture). IF you dont have any lesions because youre asymptomatic, WHY are you concerned? Wear condoms during sex and that will mitigate much of the risk, but arguably, with out symptoms, your diagnosis changes nothing. You wont need antivirals and frankly its very very common to be asymptomatic for herpes. stop stressing!! all that stress can raise your blood pressure and cause more damage to your body than the herpes virus ever could!!! STOP strressing!!! whether you have it or not, youre asymptomatic!

i ve read that asymptomatic is somebody who previously had the virus (say hsv 1 ) there are antibodies for hsv 1 and then he contracted hsv2. Or vice versa. And then his symptoms are from mild to no symptoms at all.

i imagine that when somebody is infected , virus starts an unstopable replication within the host's cells. If there are similar antibodies the body manages to mark it and destroy it.I think something like that, i dont know if it works this way.

Asymptomatic is when someone is a infected with the virus but does not show symptoms or have outbreaks!
Some may have non typical outbreaks that can be passed off as other things a rash or ingrowns ect but they wouldn't be fully classed and asymptomatic! They can still pass the virus as people who are both having no symptoms or active symptoms can pass the virus through shedding! However it is said that someone who is asymptomatic will have a lower shedding rate!
Most people will either have type 1 or type 2 but it is not uncommon to be infected with both!
as someone who works in the health field i think you may have some health anxiety. i do not think you have herpes.
