Cannot stop googling symptoms!

Anyone else do that?? I HATE it but I cannot stop. I am constantly panicking about my health and that there's something wrong with me. I had a CBC a kidney and liver function test beginning of last month and everything was fine. My doctor did a liver exam last week and said it feels fine but I seriously cannot stop thinking bad thoughts. My mind is continuously running and thinking different scenarios. I think it's really messing with my health. I don't even know if that's possible....but dang it this sucks!

Why did you have a kidney and liver function test? What symptoms were you having?
I can honestly tell you that the worst thing you can do is Google symptoms.
you can take just about any symptom and it will relate to just about any condition. Google is not going to be specific to your individual situation so you're just scaring yourself no reason . for instance, somebody with chest pain maybe convince they're having a heart attack however chest pain can also be caused by indigestion, gas, back problems, anxiety, skeletal problems such as poor posture, etc.
once you Google symptoms that increases anxiety. When your anxiety increases, that's when you develop more symptoms, even if everything is OK.
your test came out normal.
you will drive yourself crazy with the negative thinking. Please don't do what I did which was wasted 20 years of my life thinking that way. Nothing was ever wrong with me! You'll definitely regret it! I could've been enjoying those years. you're not going to get back one day that you waste on useless worrying .
remember people get all kinds of aches and pains in the vast majority are nothing serious. I'm guessing you are pretty young so go and enjoy your life.! The odds of you having something serious at your age is very low.
you need to stay busy and active. The worst thing you can do is think about this all the time because your symptoms will get worse. Don't waste your life.

I went in for headaches and dizziness as well as some discomfort after urinating. Not sure why she did a liver test. She tells me all the time not to google my symptoms, I really need to stop. I went in last week for pain under my right rib that wrapped around to my back and indigestion, she said it's gastritis. She also pressed on my liver and said it felt fine. But now the pain is under my left rib and wraps around to my back sometimes. She gave me Zantac and wants me back in 2 weeks and if it hasn't helped then I'm getting a sonogram of my stomach and gallbladder. All this crap started randomly which makes me even more scared.

I feel the same way. It all started with a rash and then I googled it and it said cancer. I panicked and began to lose weight and appetite lost. That made my anxiety even worse. I went to the emergencny twice and they drew blood and X-ray. I was fine. They ending up giving me anxiety pills lol but I still suffer from constant googling my Symptoms and I actually set up an appointment to the gp to just get a full physical to ease my mind. It's not easy with this type of anxiety. It's robbing my happiness.Just stay positive and leave it to GOD. He will guide you, I promise!! You will be in my prayer

This whole health anxiety is really nasty. I feel worrisome all day and at night. I have Zoloft but haven't taken it yet. I need to get on the ball with that. Just worried about side effects. If my mind could just calm down and relax that would be great lol.

Hi Deb you have health anxiety and you have to ask for therapy to help you with the way you think etc.Medication will help however you need to work on the anxiety itself.Obsessive googling seems to be a compulsion with this ànxiety so Google self help for health anxiety and also find out as much as you can about ànxiety and how to help yourself.

I totally understand your problem here. I have faced this where I literally develop a symptom after reading about it on google.
There are times when I worry about a condition in the morning and think it might be another new condition in the evening. Googling symptoms has had me worry about having a lot of diseases including half a dozen cancers.
At one point you have to stop obsessing about it. I still haven’t managed to completely get me out of this habit.
