Cannot tolerate sun

Hi I have a real problem when I go out in the sun even for a minute my arms come out in a red rash (not itchy) it looks like bleeding under the skin and I just wondered if it could be related to the drugs I have been taking for my polymyalgia,or high bood pressure medication, my Doc thinks that could be it,but had the problem before going on to pred...but its getting so much worse since I have been on them and it takes ages to go away, its got so bad and even wearing long sleeves and 50 plus sunscreen doesent stop it.

I really dont know what to do and will have to wait a while before I can get into a specialist.

Any ideas will be so much appreciated.

Meds I take,I can't be in the sun..but there is always a little label on them from the pharmacist..I'm in Australia, so it might be different wherever you are...apart from asking your chemist I don't know anything else ... and it is heart medicine that does it for me..hope you find out really soon....

Hi seeand, it could be as u sa. Certain meds can make you skin sensitive to the sun.

Check for side effects online or ask UR pharmist about meds UR taking.most pharmacies give phamplets with all RX so check Those.

sound miserable. UV rays penetrate thru clothing. If nothing else works it good idea to see a derm.

Hi I have worked out it could be a side effect from taking Predenasolone the prob is that it will take ages to come off them have started already and am down to 9 mg from 10 mg, going to be a long laborious journey as these meds are really bad.... damned if do damned if dont as it feels like I have lost 10 years of my life on them because it makes  me feel  10 years older.
