Cant catch a deep breath... feels like I constantly have trapped gas

I have had this problem before but i had pretty much solved it through very strict eating.

I eat potatoes sweet potatoes peas kale chard coconut oil honey brown sugar all poultry and fish. Fruit really messes with me so i dont touch it. Lots of food bothers me.

Anyways ive been pretty much totally ok for 1.5 years now when all of a sudden it came back. The only thing i can think of is i got busy and was eating less before it started. Ive had this inability to take a deep satisfying for nearly three weeks and its only getting worse. I saw my doctor who said it was my costocondhritis or anxiety. She was sure its anxiety but i am sure it isnt. Its the damn gas!

Right now i am only eating small small amounts of kale potatoes and poultry. I made a soup and try to drink that when i have no appetite. Ive had diarrhea which is rare for me now.

I also have costochondritis but i feel like this inability to breath is related to the terrible trapped gas. Its not coming out the rear its always burps.

Im losing my mind. I feel like total dirt. I dont want to live my life like this but im at a loss as to what to do. I can go on ppis but i have put that off for so long.

Is there any way to fix this? What is going on

Hi you should check out the FODMAP diet it tells you foods likely to cause gut problems, some of the veg you have mentioned are likely to cause gas, Peas contain inulin as with many veg, Inulin is good for you but causes loads of gas/bloating, two things Inulin and Sorbitol give me loads of trouble, so check the FODMAP diet its pretty good, easy to find online.

Yes, I had this when my IBS was bad and couldn't work out what it was. I could hardly take a deep breath on some occasions and then managed to burp and felt a lot better. One point I felt like I was choking in my sleep from the gas.

I don't have it like I used to for some reason but I do try and avoid high fodmap foods like peas and baked beans etc as I get loads of trapped gas. Mine is post infectious ibs so I think it has settled down a lot more and hopefully might keep getting better.

You sound very worried about your symptoms so I would suggest that your doctor is right that stress may be the cause. You do say you feel you are losing your mind; this is a sign you are experiencing anxiety. Brreathing problems and costochondritis are linked to anxiety.  When you are anxious you tend to take in more air which can build up as gas. When I get over anxious, I have difficulty catching my breath.  I have also had costochondritis because of stress.  Heartburn is also related to anxiety.  A PPI or an OTC antacid will help with acid. Some vegetables can be gassy too, such broccoli, cabbage and.Brussels sprouts and are best avoided.
