try having a few days on liquids such as soups, yogs, smoothies to let things settle down a bit - everytime i had a fill i found it to be a bit of alearning curve cos what went down easily before now presented a prob - so quite a bit of trial and error - try to keep away from very dry foods such as fibrous meats like roasts, chops, steak, smoked fish and eat stuff like sheps pie, fish pie, fish cake, salmon, chicken in gravy, chilli - often foods such as bread, rice and pasta cause a prob for bandsters too so do be careful if eating these - if you can eliminate the problematic foods you should find a way forward but if this is still persisting in say another week's time i would say you need a small defill as it is too tight - good luck

I am have the same problem but I have just been to malia and I picked up a bug which cause me to be sick and now I think it's inflamed just behind my breast bone and evrtime I eat it's painful I went to nurse at my gp today and she gave me them pills for heartburn but this is not heartburn I used to have heartburn all my life unit I had my gastric band. I had my band done by the hospital group and I have emailed them today as number is a 0845 number hope they get back to me soon as I feel our local gp s and triage nurses don't really understand as they don't specialise in his area enough

When you go on a plane your band becomes tighter. Usually you need a defile before flying smile

ivenever had a defil when i have flown and always been ok - ive flown long haul to USA and short haul to europe and never had a prob so this is not necessarily something everyone suffers from in fact i have to say all the bandsters i know dont have a defill when flying - one you start messing about with your restriciton it is sometimes difficult to get it exactly right again.

if you have vomitted then the area around your band might be irritated and a bit swollen but it should return to normal if you let the area rest - try liquids for a few days so as to not agitate it further as it has had some trauma when you were sick - in extreme cases the band can slip through vomitting so if the situation persists then seek professional advice fro your bariatric team to be on the safe side - you are right that your gp and nurse might not know much about gastric bands so its best to seek the advice of the xperts to be sure - like you say, what you are experiencing does not feel like heartburn but it might be ok in a few days if you let it settle - just stick with soups, yogs and ensure you get plenty of liquids in - if you get to the stage where you cannot get fluids in then go to A&E immediately  and tell them the problem.  Dont hang around waiting for the hosp group to email you back and risk your health. good luck
