    Hi tracieann,

It sometimes gets me that, mainly when I'm in bed,but it tends to go after a while, but damned painful when it's there.

What to do I'm not sure, nothing seems to shift it and it does tend to run its course,do you have the hiatus hernia? I know now when mine is on the move, tea scalds and usually much more discomfort all round, there is an exercise on the Net that is supposed to relieve it,but if you don't have one that's not much help is it?

Well done for eating more, but of course your stomach has to digest it so probably that caused some of your pain.

Have you tried Slipper Elm,I find it very useful in controlling the discomfort and bloating, apparently it coats the lining of stomach and Esophagus,I make a paste of it with honey and warm water and drink it,or it comes in tablet form.

i seem to have recovered from my bad timw with this, back on PPI's,but whatever it takes.

Hope you soon feel better, eat what you feel is right, and let's hope you get an easing of the pain and discomfort.

    Regards Malc

When I had Gallstones i had sinilar symptoms.  I was fine during the day but the minute I laid down it would hit me in my back horrible weird pain and I would feel like I needed to burp but couldn't any carbanated drink would make it worse. over the years the symptoms changed, I would get pain in my upper abdomen that would shoot from one side to the other and I would get nauseous. When I got my gallbladder removed I still got the shooting pain from side to side once in awhile. Lately I am getting it more, I have had my gallbaldder taken out for almost 12 years now

    Hi Tracieann,

I have done, not so much now, bacon butty twice a week, maybe chops or sausages once a week, however as much fruit as I can, have to steer clear of too much dairy though, ditto for bread,OK with most other things, can even manage onions now and curries, but only in moderation.

Still love my cake and biscuits, fat in them I suppose, but hey what the heck I'm a growing lad! (65 next month)

    Eat well,stay healthy.

Just done another 15 miles on my bike, that keeps me healthy.

    regards malc

    Hi again,

Have you tried hard-boiled eggs, nuts, lentils, broccoli, even celery hearts, this is what I ate for months, deffo a labour of love, but you gotta eat.

Also try and get a licorice stick and chew on it,it helps a lot,i do mean a real twig, not a sweet, although that may help too.

    I'll try anything once,not much I don't like though,keep going Tracieann.

    Yours Malc
