Ive been sleeping with my mom almost the whole week due to my anxiety but tonight I didnt bc my dad wanted to sleep in there but im in my room & im still awake im kind of feeling like im afraid to fall asleep bc something bad will happen to me in my sleep, I want to go into my moms room but I also want to learn how to deal with things on my own without immediately running to my mom. Usually when im sleeping with my mom I fall asleep very fast and dont even wake up thru the night but its now 1:30 AM in my own room & I cannot sleep ugh why? Btw im only 17 since itll sound weird that im sleeping with her still😂

Sleeping with your mum makes you feel safe as though your being looked after but as you've said its not a fix for your anxiety and inability to sleep in your own room, you need to be able yo sleep in your own room. Try guided meditation for sleep, plenty on YouTube and best if your wear earbuds, nothing is going to happen to you whilst your asleep' try not to become reliant upon sleeping with your mum as the more you stay in your own room the sooner you will accept nothing bad is going to happen. It might take some time but you will get there. Neil

I Do the same thing with my fiancée. I can't sleep unless I am attached to her hip. The security makes me feel better and comforts me. I am a 47 year old male. So it's pretty embarrassing for me admitting this to you. I am scared to be alone especially with this disorder. I am just lucky my fiancée is understanding and likes the attention. I see nothing wrong with what you are doing especially after reading how bad your anxiety is. I think in time things will change for you once you get a grip on this disorder and you start feeling better. But for now, do what makes you feel comfortable and eases you.

Suggestion -- take some thing of your mom's to bed with you. Something that has her odor on it. I'll bet you will be able to fall asleep.
