Care after a biopsy?

Posted , 8 users are following.

I've just had my biopsy this afternoon and all the doctor said to me was 'keep it dry'.  A little difficult when you have to go to the loo!  It's beginning to feel sore, but not too bad.  I'd be really interested to hear what advice others have been given after their biopsy.  Or what they found most helpful.

I,m sorry but the healing process just takes time and care I,m sure you have a good idea on care, keep it dry and after about 10days tepid water to clean no soaps or anything stronger. Try eating alkerline foods plenty of plain water. See if it makes it any easier.Hope things get more comfortable.

Hi, I have just had a biopsy this afternoon because gyno found an ulcer on the opening of my vagina.

I had one stitch. He told me just to have showers, no baths, no soap. I don't use soap anyway. I bled quite a lot. I have to use pads also. I asked him if I could use coconut oil and he said yes. I felt that he was not that interested. My results will take three weeks.I am going to be drinking lots of water to make sure my wee is not too acidic. He could not tell me how long to expect it to heal.Good luck to you all after your biopsies. Wonderful forum this is, I have learnt a great deal about our condition and also helped me mentally come to terms with it being something that we have to live with. I was a wreck when I was diagnosed, now I am more confident and I am not alone. Thanks everyone.
