I am 3 Days post op and in severe pain! Not only from my hand but also in my elbow, so much so I went in today to see my dr. My hand is very swollen. My drs response when I told him the pain med he gave me wasn't beginning to relieve my pain. He informed me Tylonol #3 should be suficient. I think he is nuts! I also would like to know if anyone has horrible pain in their elbow , arm , an wrist. This is horrific achey throbbing pain. Please let me hear from anyone with any answers. Thank you

You may want to speak to your pharmacist about taking ibuprofin with the Tylenol 3....or ibuprofen along with Tylenol extra strength. Ibuprofen is an anti-onflammatory. Inflammation causes pain. Also...are you icing the hand and keeping it raised? This again is to control infammation. Hope the pain eases for you soon.

Personally I would contact the hospital where you had the surgery....I have pain in my elbows but that's because I also have ulnar nerve problems and that will be my next operation. Remember to keep your arm elevated as much as poss...I know it's hard....were you provided with a sling? I found mine really helped post op! Good luck and wishing you a speedy recovery!
