Hi, were you not given any advice from either your GP or Hospital?  I thought they would give advice on what to do following surgery? If not, then maybe you could contact them to clarify?

Yeah I was told to leave it on . But then another nurse told me to take it off after 3 days. I thought I'd just share my questions and thoughts with people who have had the same op. It's hard to remember everything that happened that day . Hope my question didn't irritate you too much

Your question didn't irritate me. I was just surprised as I would have thought that you would have been given advice re wound care when you were discharged after your op.

It probably will be best to either speak to someone at the hospital or maybe a nurse at your doctors surgery.

Hope that the op went ok?

Yeah op went great the team that did the op where fantastic. I'm surprised I'm not in that much pain at all . So hopefully it will be a speedy recovery 😀

Hi. I got told to leave it on for 10days until stiches out less chance of infection. But a lot of people take it off of 3days and put a small one on until stiches taken out.

I was told to take off after 3 days and given dressing to cover until stitches were taken out. It's important to keep it dry. All surgeons give different advice though. You might want to ring them to clarify. It felt good to have bulky bandage off.

My post op information said to remove the bulky dressings after 2-3 days, but to keep it dry and covered with the inner dressing and bandage till the stitches come out at around the 2 week mark. Hope you are going on OK
