    Hi

usually you are told to take the big bandage off after 48hours, this is to protect you to get more problems of stiffness in your hand. You will find a small dressing underneath that you can change if it is bloody but use a sterile dressing to replace it. For the swelling holding your hand higher is recommended but also I was told to get 2 bowls of water, one very hot and the other cold with lots of ice in it. Putting your hand in for as long as you can stand it then change to other bowl. Works well. Good luck Elaine

hi..i underwent the surgery yesterday. my surgeon askedme to see him 13 days later to remove the stiches. i started to do exercise after i was dischrged, almost 1 hour after the surgery. up to 6 hourse my hand was numb as a result of the anesthesic injection. anfter that i had a pain but i could sleep. today is much better. and i kep doing exercise each hour, fisting and straightening fingers and the streching the arm towards cilling 5 times every hour. i can almost fist and it is much better than yesterday.the  hand is kept elevated at night and daytime and its not as swollen as yeterday.

Exercises after any surgery is key to recovery and being back on the foot sooner.

Do the exercise slowly andevey hour no missing.

    hope you feel better soon
