Castor oil

I want to encourage others to try castor oil for easing the pain of frozen shoulder. Each evening, I apply a generous layer, put on a loose cotton t-shirt, and then use a large moisture producing electric heating pad for about 30- 45 minutes. I switch out of the T-shirt into nightclothes before bed, but may not bath until morning. The heat causes the oil to be absorbed into the shoulder, where it improves lymphatic drainage, and reduces inflammation. External application is very safe and worth a try. I know it has really helped me.

    Hello Melissa,

thank you for this information.  I have castor oil and forgot I have it.  I'll try it for my shoulder.  I have a hot water bottle that I will use with it.

Good. I bet it will help you, Rebecca. Fortunately, I happen to already own an extra- large heating pad that draws water from the air, producing a penetrating moist heat. If you can, try applying the castor oil once a day for several days in a row to truly realize the benefits. Castor oil is reputed for its calming effects, and I have found that it has helped me to go to and stay asleep. Keep in mind that it does stain. I just have used a few old t-shirts. Let me know how you respond, and wishing you the best.
