Cataract confusion

i am going into my 4th day after having cataract surgery on left eye. I am feeling disappointed. At this stage my vision in that eye is so blurry worse than before the operation. I have had family and friends who have had the procedure done, say their vision is better than ever. I am feeling rather low and unhappy. Just wondering from others experience does it improve with time?

I had my cataract surgery on my left eye in September. My vision is now worse than before the surgery. It's like I am looking through a blurry white fog. The doctors had me putting drops in my eye since then with no success. The retina specialist says he will try injections in my eye twice and then will operate if the injections don't work. I will put off the surgery on my right eye until I can (hopefully) see with my left eye. I'm running out of options and have trouble sleeping from worrying.  I hope your eye improves with time. I don't mean to sound like a downer, but  reading the responses of others seems to show that there are many people who are having serious problems after cataract surgery.

Am so sorry to hear this.  Do you know what type of lens was used in your eye?  Was it the "Symfony" lens by Abbott Medical?  This is important because 737 of those lenses were recalled.

I don't know the manufacturer, but it was model ZC800, SN5913611606. Do you or anyone else know if that would be enough to identify it? If not, I'll contact that doctor's office. Of course, I don't use that doctor anymore.

I do not know if Abbott Medical Optics manufacted the ZC800.  They DID manufacture ZCB00.  I hope that you are able to get the info you need.  I did find 2 phone numbers for ABBOTT MEDICAL OPTICS (if they are the manufacturer)  the #s are: 714-247-8200 and 877-266-4543.  Keep us posted w/your progress, best of luck.

My pathetic eyes couldn't see the model correctly. It is ZCB00. Even more pathetic, the lens I got was for near vision. See how well it is working.  Thank you for the info and the phone numbers.

That's a Tecnis monofocal lens.  It's not the Symfony, but it's made by the same company.  They are a major IOL manufactorer.
