cataract surgery

All my right eye sees now is white. After my surgery yesterday as i was leaving i was amazed at the colors. I could see clearly. By the time I got home it clouded up. I took the drops, stayed calm thinking it would be better when I woke up next day. It didn't. I can't see at all. Just blobs and outlines. Even with reading glasses on, I see only a white page. i feel like crying and now in a panic. I do not see this as a side effect on papers they gave me. I do not see halos or glares even, just all white in front of me. If anyone knows what is wrong or heard of this, please help.

vision has improved but I still can't read on pc or paper. I did call and I have an appointment to see doctor in the morning. Not sure what pco is. Some of the haze or smokiness has lefted but not all. Fact that there has been improvement gives me hope.

Things have improved a bit today. I can now see faces and features and large letters on the tv and on buildings. I still have a haze to see through, but seems to be not as bad as it was. I called my doctor and will be seeing him in the morning. I still can't read the pc screen or anything written words on paper, with or without any type of reading glasses, but what I can see through the haze seems to be good, as in no double vision or blurryness. Not sure what the pco is that is mentioned here. Thanks for answering me and the help.

Pco is Post Capsular Opacification. Its when the old lens cells try to re-grow, causing clouding of the lens. Apparently it only happens in about 5% of patients. The reason I was made aware of the possibility was because I have a higher risk of developing it as I am relatively young at 47. Although from what you are describing it really doesn't sound like this. Hope you find a solution.

No expert, but my guess the IOL you had implanted moved completely out of position. If so they'll probably have to go into your eye again, but I think they should be able fix it. In any event call your eye doc immediately and get in to see him ASAP.

When I went to have my annual retinal screening after my cataract surgery the girl doing it said that there was slight condensation on the bottom left of one lens.
I had complained of a slight problem in that area that the hospital had said was because of reduced field of vision in that eye.

Update: It turned out I have fluid or water in my retina. It's almost gone now, and the doctor said it will eventuall all be gone. I can see tv and even read things on it now. Reading pring and pc is still a bit faded and hard to read, but much better. Thanks you all for the adivce and info. Appreciate it. Pam

No. But when I had my eyes dilated in examination that eye was slightly foggy for couple days but not near like it was after surgery. Must be something strange with that eye. They do put in a lot of drops so some got into my retina somehow. Just glad it's much clear now. Not perfect but almost.

At the last opticians eye test my wife had she had a reaction to the drops used and her eye pressure went very high. They had her sit there for a coupleof hours until it dropped and told her to go to A&E if she had a problem over the weekend.

I had cataracts for awhile but reason i went to the doctor was one day I had lightening flashes all day when I moved my eye. Read this could be a tear in the retina so made appointment. Got in in couple days, but the flashes stopped. He could see no tear. However, when I got home this eye did had a slight haze that lasted couple days, but went away. did it again, while left eye didn't have that affect. I thought maybe it was this eye reacting to being dialated. SO, Now I'm thinking if there is water in my retina now after surgery, there MUST be a teeney tiny tear or hole for it to get in. I'll ask him about that on Tuesday when I go back. Since my left eye never had that affect from the dorps, I'll be I won't have this same problem when I go back to get it done.
