hi. i had cataract surgery 2 days ago and while it went well, today i notice a white substance under the eye. its hardened and doesnt seem threatening to the eye. I'm wondering what it could be as my consultant didnt mention it. thanks..

Are you using Prednisolone drops by chance? If mine leak out of the eye they harden to a white substance in the corner and sometimes below the eye.

hi. thanks for reply. i cleaned eye with a warm napkin and it has disappeared. im using lopodine and maxitrol eye drops. maxitrol 4 times per day and lopodine 2 times per day.

sounds like it is the due drops prescribe after cataract surgery. i had this same issue with prednisolone. Just clean it with a clean warm face cloth. It will eventually go away after you finish with the drops.
