Cataract Surgery Complication - Need Advice

Like many of you, I am frustrated with my recent experience post cataract surgery.
Surgery day itself was very complicated. I had a capsular rapture that cause the Dr. to insert some Gel to hold the IOL in place. My eye pressure was fairly high all day as a result (around 40) but stabilized below 20 after about 4-5 hours. The next day my vision was 20/25. 5 days later i was at 20/20 and 10 days later i was at 20/20. Everything seemed to be going great and i loved my vision. Then suddenly, i woke up the morning of the 11th day and saw my vision was worse. Over the next several days my eye was sore and my vision was not imporving. When i saw my Dr. he thought everything should stabilize. When tested, over the next few weeks i tested at 20/60, 20/80, 20/40, 20/50. Basically all over the place. Then over the course of a month, it seemed that vision began to improve. I got to 20/30 when suddently about 2 months post surgery the exact same thing happend and i woke up with grey, grainy vission. Right back to 20/80.
When the DR. examines me they say it could be a fold in the back of my eye. It could be vitrious, it could be nerve damage, it could be the lense. Nothing concrete that can answer the questions i have.
From a symtom standpoing, i tell them that it is not the blurriness that is causing the visual issues but the depth of vision. I can see everything but it is faint. Not enough light is coming in. The vision appears at times like i am looking through a dirty glass window, it is pixelated. Objects are easier to see than letters/numbers.
If anyone had or is having a similar experience, i would love to better understand what this could be.

Like you I have had similar problems. My started because I have deep set eyes (something I never knew!) and there was a terrible problem securing my eyelid back and the pain was unbelievable. My sight was was worse than when I started. I could not see colours properly they were very faint. I had a few emergency appointments because I was convinced something was very wrong. I was checked and rechecked by several leading consultants and they all said everything was completely fine! So why could I not see! They thought it was trauma after the extreme clamping of the eyelid.
After much checking and rechecking, 3 months on I was told to go to my optician for glasses. They did not hold out much hope that she could get my sight better than it was in the left eye. Well she worked miracles and now as long as I have my glasses on I can see perfectly so she is my hero! She also made me a fantastic pair of sunglasses to block the strong sunlight but also so I can see the tree roots in the woods when I walk the dog.
I do hope something can be sorted out for you, I know just how frustrating (and frightening) this journey can be. Let me know how you get on.
Warmest Wishes
Jacqui
