Catheter help please

This is my first cyst and my catheter is about to break. What do I do when it breaks? Should I go to the doctor and replace it and get a new catheter? I don't know what to do because I still have the balloon inside me sad

I would definitely call your doctor so they can check it out.  I had a catheter inserted for 5 weeks and the catheter was so flexible I never felt like it would break but maybe yours is made from a different type of material.  Good luck!

Oh sweetie I am so sorry you are going through this! So am I for the second time! Awful! Ok, so I don't know what you mean as far as "about to break"? Please explain.

My first one, the doctor made the baloon AND cut too big - so it deflated in like 3 days and slipped out very easily while I peed. They are called "word cathedars" and the material they are made of anywhere on the planet cannot simply rupture. They can only deflate and slip out is all. It CANNOT pop or anything. It can only shrink.

This recent one my doctor didn't fill it up as large, but it seemed to be positioned in a weird place and the spout thing was rather annoying. They say to keep it in for 4-6 weeks. I am at 4.5 weeks and I couldnt stand the spout anyore. So I took scissors and tried to clip the end off to make it shorter - turns out it's NOT a spout - the leakage is from the cut. The second I cut the spout, all the saline leaked out and the balloon deflated and slid right out without even pulling on it.

Your cathedar cannot break. But if it is too enlarged and uncomfortable, you have to go to a doctor (and if you dont have one like me, I went to a clinic and they referred me to an OBGYN), and ask them to please take some of the saline/liquid out to make it more comfortable for you.

God bless and good luck sweetie!

Thank you. When I first had the cathedar, it was pretty firm and hard to bend. Now it's so flexible and it's starting to get thinner. So I just feel like it's going to break in half.
