Catheter valves

I just replaced the collection bag attacked to my Foley catheter with a flip flo valve. This is much more convenient than the bag. I just open the valve every few hours and direct the urine into the toilet. The valve also allows your bladder to collect urine and not be empty all the time which is more natural than the bag and will help keep your bladder in shape in case the catheter is taken out. Anyone any experience with catheter valves.

    Hi, Ken,

I evaluated some valves designed for exactly the same purpose as yours. The only problem I found was leakage which meant I had to use diapers to catch the drips. If you are interested I'll be happy to send you details, maybe via PM. Just drop me a line!

    Warm regards. Alan.

I have just started but I have not had leakage as yet. I am using flip flo. They should be replaced every week or so apparently.I would be happy to see your results. Perhaps the valve is not connected firmly enough. You can send them to my email if you like.
