Catheterisation after nose surgery

Posted , 2 users are following.

5 weeks ago today I had a septorhinoplasty for a brown nose. After the operation I couldn't pee, I've now had the catheter in for 5 weeks after I failed a trial without, I'm waiting to see the urologist for further test. I'm just wondering if this is common? I'm a 20 year old female with no previous bladder issues!

It does sound to be an unusually long time to be catheterised.

I would contact the Urologist and ask them to bring the consultation forward.

If they cannot do that then I would ask for a telephone consultation when you can express your concerns.

Yeah that's what I thought, I've phone the urologist a dozen times and all they say is my case has been sent to the consultant and to wait for the appointments, the doctor who done my nose operation is emailing them to try and accelerate it but I've been told it could take up to 12 weeks for some tests!

Absolutely disgusting that you should have to wait so long.

Maybe an appeal through your GP as well might help to get the ball rolling.

I am NOT impressed with their performance.

Yeah I'm not impressed either! I've been back and forth to my gp with no success either, I've been told that this is very uncommon yet I feel that it's dragging on sad

I know which way I will be voting this time and it won't be with the present lot who caused all these problems.
