Causes of haematospermia?

Hi All

I’m on Warfarin for DVT treatment and have been for about 9 months now. Have noticed brown deposits (blood) in semen over last few weeks. I have a bit of what I can only describe as “groin pain” but not sure if that’s related. Prostate is fine and PSA very low. No other symptoms or blood in urine. Blood pressure is well under control. I am ancient - ie just turned 70.

Can’t find much about this on forums unless I’ve missed it.  Anyone have any views? I’m going to my general practitioner when I get back from a business trip.

Thanks everyone

    Hi Folks

No replies to this post from anyone so I thought I’d reply “to myself” if only to pass on some further info that might be useful to others.

Urine and semen samples tested and both were completely free of evidence for any infection. The brown deposits are still in semen only not in urine and the general view is that this might be a symptom of minor vascular damage to The epididymis region. It was suggested that this might persist for some time and I shouldn’t worry about it but just monitor in case it gets worse. GP had referred me to a Urologist but did say that he may not follow this up.

So the take home news is that in event of no infection, this symptom could well be of some vascular damage but the outcome could well be inconsequential.

So if anyone else out there has similar, this news may be of benefit.

    Cheers to All
