Cbd oil and citalopram

hi just wondered if anyone takes cbd oil alongside their citalopram? if so has it been helpful? thanks

Hi Leigh,how are you now? I wouldn't recommend taking CBD oil with Citalopram at all. I stopped Fluoxetine last year and replaced it with CBD oil and 5-htp. It definitely works. It increases serotonin and it also increases another neurotransmitter dopamine. I didn't know it increased dopamine when I started it,and dopamine is not very good for anxiety,so I stopped it in March and started my current medication. Citalopram increases serotonin and CBD oil increases serotonin,so you could possibly have serotonin syndrome which is too much serotonin which can be serious. Also,it is very expensive if you get a reputable brand. I also had terrible dry mouth. Dopamine is good for depression because it is a motivating chemical in the brain,not so good if you need calming down with anxiety. I was getting spaced out on it and stressed.
