CBD Oil For Anxiety?

Has anyone ever tried CBD for anxiety? I had quite a few traumas, I now have GAD, slight PTSD, also struggle with other issues and I have been hearing about CBD for last couple months but I have never tried it.
I have tried Anti depressants, I felt they did not work for me. I have been on and off them since I was 14, I am now 24 and do not want to go back on them due to side effects, excessive sweating, tremors etc which only made my anxiety WORSEN.
I am now on Propranonol which I have found quite helpful with physical symptoms of anxiety, but not mentally.
I get all these overwhelming thoughts, not sleeping properly, palpitations, excessive worrying, terrified to go outside most days- even if it is just to a shop. etc.. I have poor appetite and have issues with an eating problem which I am not going to get into.
I have used drink to calm anxiety, as some people I know from groups may use vallium just to get them out of the house, but I dont want to keep thinking that way. I have control of it however and my health seems fine although have problems with my leg and knee after being diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome 2 years ago.
Anxiety though, think I may have slight depression also, is and has been affecting my life for the last couple of years and I have days where feel im stuck in the same cycle, very down and not 'living my life'.
Any advice?
Also to let you know I have started therapy after being on a 7 month waiting list, but this is mainly for the eating prob which Is not my main focus, its my mental anxiety that is! There is no point in sorting out that when my anxiety is off the roof as my mind will always find another way to try numb the anxiety. I have tried different therapies in the past, none have seemed to help, or if they did then the anxiety didnt go away for too long.

Hey,
I had clinical depression for over 8 years and I still have some chronic anxiety and stress. I stopped taking anti-depressants as well as they also caused a lot of side effects for me (unbearable ones). I am having problems with eating as well as I feel nauseous after almost every meal. I'll have a single day in like 4 months where I'll eat and just feel great but usually I'm nauseous and it kills me. CBD has helped me with the anxiety but it is person dependent and dose dependent. CBD affects some people more than others but that doesn't mean that it won't work for you. I would do some research into it regarding doses and try it out. Also note that CBD isn't felt the first day that you take it. It'll take at least a few days to really start feeling the CBD. Good luck!

Yes it's a great product if U read the information on it you will feel more comfortable taking it. I can truly relate completely I have had anxiety and panic attacks for years. Trying some natural products R for sure the way to go CBD's and Holy Basil made by New Chapter or Gaia are both excellent products and will also help with sleep.
Take care~

Is it safe to take CBD oil if one is still taking prescribed medicines for Anxiety and Depression? I take Lyrica and Duloxetine daily for severe GAD and Dysthymia.

i am not really qualified to say
i take beta blocker and blood pressure med and had no problems
if you start on 5% which is low dose and just one drop under tongue - i dont think it would be a problem
maybe check with GP?

Hi
I have severe anxiety and was prescribed Setraline/Zoloft but the list of side-effects was so off-putting that I didn't even try it! I bought CBD oil instead and it's really helped to alleviate a lot of my anxiety. I'm not cured, but I'm so much better than I was and I'm able to do things that I couldn't do before (used to never leave the house). I find it helps with both the physical and mental symptoms.
Everyone's experience of CBD is different though and you have to get the product and the dose right. Also don't jump right in at a high dose because it could make you feel worse! Gradually build the dose up until you find your sweet spot.
It's also worth noting that CBD is processed by the liver using the same protein (Cytochrome P450) as many prescription meds, so it's recommended to leave a 2 or 4 hour gap either side of your CBD to make sure you don't get any drug interactions. Taking CBD at the same time as other meds can make them less effective.

Thank you for your reply. Yeah I have tried the cbd oil twice, and noticed it helped calm me down like fast, maybe a placebo effect? but whatever it's doing it does work. I didn't realise that, do you know if it is harmful to the liver in any way?
Only problem I have with it as when I bought it after doing research I did not realise it contains omega 3 and 6 oils. I already take cod liver oil as supplement which i bought from holland and barret, when I asked them if I could take the cod liver oil and still use the cbd oil they couldnt give me an answer. So I am now still waiting to hear back from the manufacture from where i purchased the cbd oil.
I was told by a pharmacist maybe take the codliver oil on one day and the cbd the next?
